Upon their arrival, they were informed by his emissary that the Rothko was away on business and would return later that evening. They were shown to their quarters and invited to see the city while they waited.

Thoi Ko, Beeto Zoto, Carlagillen, and Captain Dasque decided to see a bit of the city, and grab a bite to eat while they waited. Finding a small modern tavern, they went in and all enjoyed the local favorite - seared lizardhen. However, even before their meals arrived, the Jedis sensed that something was amiss. In a city where few carried firearms, two mysterious strangers wore blasters at their side. One, a human who picked nervously at his food, and a second, a bosk-type creature who casually read the paper as he sipped his Jootha Tea.

Curious, Thoi Ko approached the nervous man, who seemed to panic at his unexpected approach. When Ko pressed him for answers, the nervous man drew his gun and placed it against Ko's chest. The Jedi remained calm and returned to his seat. However, it was not too long until the man drew his blaster and began firing at an unexpecting target across the street, right though the plate glass window.

The party was quick to respond. Beeto Zoto drew his lightsaber and began deflecting laser bolts. Thoi Ko ran to help the downed man in the street, and Karen Dasque responded with a volley of fire from her own heavy blaster. Carlagillan thought fast - under the table.

A blast from Dasques' heavy artillery downed the assassin, but not for long. As Beeto Zoto approached to help the fallen man, he used the Jedi's outstretched hand to propel himself back into action. He ran headlong into the street, picking up a shard of shattered glass as he sprinted, taking no notice as it sliced open his hand. A final blow from Thoi Ko ended the onslaught, and Ko helped the wounded victim to his feet.

"Do you know anyone who would want you dead?" Ko asked. "Many people!" the man replied "I am Ambassador Grendal of the planet Kalen. Not a popular figure around here!". Ko sensed that the Dark Side was strong with Grendel, but did not let on. Grendel invited Ko and his party to dinner that night at Chez Amidala, the fanciest and most expensive restaurant on Menko.

Meanwhile, Carlagillen ran photos of the assassin though the tavern's computer console. He found that the man was a mechanic from a city called "Beechem" halfway across the planet. No prior offenses, nothing to suggest subversive activity.

Later the group met up with General Rothko. The General welcomed everyone and expressed his gratitude for their interest in his system and his enthusiasm for the rise of a new generation of Jedi warriors. Jajajaba presented Rothko with a blue lightsaber crystal as a tolken of goodwill.

The discussion of where to proceed ensued. Rothko was hesitant to fully support the joining of the New Republic as it was too radical a move for the Betawans to accept. They were already on the brink of Civil War at the mere thought of a reunion of this sort. He asked for this discussion to continue, and suggested that they honor their meeting with Ambassador Grendel- perhaps some diplomacy there could be of some help.

The part decided that this meeting would be their next step, then perhaps on to find out about their mysterious nervous assassin...

Chancellor's Note: First picture is of Captain Dasque- it is a photo of her on her own planet, not to be confused with the pristine looking Jootha. Captain Karyn Dasque and Jedi Knight Jajajaba responded to an emergency call from Carlagillen following his attack in the Extractor control room. However, they were held up by the Golgothans, the mysterious elite guard of Govenor Decay. After Carlagillen managed to set off the alarms throughout the base, and tried to make his own escape through one of the mining shafts by climbing out onto the evaporator. However, the sheer metal walls proved too big an obsticle. A wire was lowered by Captain Dasque just in time, and Carlagillen struggled up the rope amid laser fire and approaching pfetorases - who saw dangling bait on a hook. Unfortunatly, the Golgathans managed to take out Carlagillen and Captain Dasque before Jajajaba could stop them. Were it not for the healing powers of Jajajaba, our favorite Mon Calamari would have been sushi.

Meanwhile, Carlagillen's alarm went off as Beeto Zoto and Thoi Ko attempted to steel Darth Decay's private vessle. With Decay on the nose of the ship hacking his way in with his lightsasber, the alarm distracted him long enough to leave him unprepared for Beeto Zoto turning the sheilds on and thus throwing him across the hanger.

However, the escape of the Jedi was not easy. As Thoi Ko scrambled with the controls of the ship, Beeto Zoto tried to convince an unwilling R5 unit to help them pilot. Eventually, the threat of certain death convinced the little robot, who then turned them around back towards Decay who waited in the Hanger, lightsaber extended.

The battle between Sith Lord and Ship continued, this time Decay attempted to hold the ship with the force, but this proved unsuccessful as the Jedi were able to get out a second time and return to the icy exterior of the base.

It was then that they saw the approach of the 7 Golgathan ships - the same ones that had shot them down over Menko.

The Houk base was now being evacuated. The Barron's guest had become the leader of an invasion, and as the ships flew in, it was clear that the Houk base would be taken by force. Barron Goompah rushed everyone to the escape hangar where he invited the members of the 2nd Republic Mission to join him in his ship. They agreed, but as they boarded, Darth Decay appeared on the Hangar and moved to stop them. Jajajaba rushed in to defend the ship as it took off, and the fight between the light and dark jedi ensued.

The Barron's ship turned around to pick up Thoi Ko and Beeto Zoto. The Barron advocated a quick retreat to the Houk home system, but Beeto Zoto determined that they had to go back for Jajajaba. Tech specialist and pilot Gelp turned the ship around in time to see the Govenor overpowering the Jedi Knight. Amidst an onslaught of laser fire from the Golgathons, Gelp piloted in towards the Chasm's landing. Captain Dasque opened the door of the ship and fired her blaster at Decay, but he easily knocked the bolt back towards the ship. Thoi Ko then used the force to create a barrier with an old metal door between Decay and Jajajaba which gave him time to escape and jump to safety aboard the Baron's ship.

It was almost too late, jajajaba, in critical condition barely made the jump, and the Govenor held the ship in place with the focre. At the last second, as laser fire from the Golgothans increased, the Sith Lord's cocentration was broken with a strike from the door that Thoi Ko was moving. The ship escaped to safety...

...for now....

Episode 7.2: The Dark Decay

After discovering the true identity of Darth Decay, the crew of the Skywalker settled in for an uneasy sleep under the watch of their trusty driod KP4A. Unfortunatly, that watch did not last through the night, as our heros found out when they woke to discover him missing from his post.

After a most uncomfortable breakfast with a seemingly genial Sith Lord, tech specialist Carlagillen asked Baron Goompah about helping him with his technical problem - this seemed to pique the interest of Darth Decay. Carlagillen and the Jedi then went to track down KP4A , enlisting the help of local tech specialist Gelp. Gelp said that there were plenty of droids on the base, including two on Govenor Decay's private vessle. Jedis Beeto Zoto and Thoi Ko went to investigate the vessle while Carlagillen went to repair the Extractors, which mine Exthium from deep beneath the surface of the planet.

In his attempts to fix the Extractors, Carlagillen found himself trapped in the Extractor module, suspended in a miles high chasm when the bridge connecting to the stairwell seemed to have... decayed... and that's not all. <img src="http://photos16.flickr.com/22001672_59c6532173_m.jpg"align=right>He had to single handedly fight off a Pfetoras, a flesh eating flying reptile with a taste for fish... However, little did they know that Dikay's troops were still on their trail, and that Governor Dikay was also known by another, more sinister name...

Episode 7: The Lost Sister

It is a time of civil unrest. In the absence of a united leadership, many star systems turned to their local governments as their highest authority. While some democracies remain, warloards have overrun other worlds, and still others have been plunged into anarchy.

Under the guidance of Chancellor Magellan, a Jedi consortium has been created to open up talks with diplomats of star systems and distant worlds who might join the new Republic.

Although some goodwill missions have been successful, many have not. It appears as though the Second Republic may not have enough support to carry it through its birthing pains. However, the tide appears about to turn: the Betawan system of the seven sister planets has elected General Rothko of the old republic, and veteran of the Clone Wars and the Rebellion against the Empire as their new Prime Minister. Rothko has advocated the system’s eventual joining to the Second Republic. If they could be brought to the table sooner, many other star systems would likely follow.

However, a dark cloud hangs over Betawan. Rothko’s defeated political advisary, the evil Govenor Dikay has raised a huge following of dissenters, calling the rejoining of the rebublic treasonous to the soverignty of the Seven Sisters. Ballor, the Govenor’s planet and one of the seven sisters, has officially seceeded from the union, and it seems as if the planet Kallen may follow.
